I think maybe color-correcting concealers help quite a bit for hard-to-cover areas. Apply them first and then a foundation to get more even coverage instead of trying to load up with foundation in just one spot which usually ends up not looking so good, especially close up.

@SilleeMee   Correctors do cover redness and dark areas. Sometimes in peach or pink tones, just be sure you blend w/ your foundation or use a concealer the same shade as your foundation over the corrector. With corrector/concealer, foundation may be minimal.

@Shanus , correctors for redness are green.

You used to post you wore Bobbi Brown's stick foundation in Alabaster. I guess masks ended that? I find myself wearing foundation less and less. Hopefully, we can shop for makeup soon when this pandemic is resolved.

@Trinity11   Some correctors for redness are green, but are usually only used by mua since impossible to blend without being visible. A peach corrector, applied properly does cover redness...IF it has the correct consistency. I use one in a pot, not a more liquid type in a tube w/ doe foot. Laura Mercier also makes a product called Secret Camouflage. It's a corrector/concealer in two shades (in a compact) that you mix and match together with a small concealer brush to cover various places that may need more or less of the darker or lighter shades.
***Makeup has strange uses and properties. Did you know on darker skins, a red lipstick can cover darker area under eyes?

@Shanus , Elf makes a green corrector that once applied becomes completely invisible. I tried the peach but it looked like blush and was visible.

I think it just goes to show how we all differ in what works for us. Since Laura Mercier was bought by another company, I no longer have luck with their products.

@Trinity11  You are right,  it's really just using the color wheel we are all familiar with, to cover redness go directly across the color wheel from red to green and it cancels out the redness.  For blue discolorations (like the undereye) directly across from blue you find orange, the orange, peachy, salmon correctors cancel out the blue tones.

@Shanus

I appreciate your information and tips!  When I am home, I don't use anything really.  When I do go out, which, of course, is not much since the virus, I like to have some type of coverage on my skin.  I think if I don't, since I do have skin issues as I've gotten older, it ages me.  I do feel that to go lightly though --- find the right balance -- is key.  Too much and you look older and too little and you look older.  I plan on using these ideas you gave to me.  Thank you!

Re: SELLING FOUNDATIONS AT Q

@AngelPuppy1   You're quite welcome. I have difficulty giving suggestions here since I'm in the dark as far as seeing what/who I'm dealing with and naturally every woman is different. In the end, you need to do what you feel comfortable with...a balance.

Another poster accused me of giving advice to advance my "business"...solicitous, I think she said. I found this quite comical since I don't know any of you personally, where you live and certainly am not booking appointments...ever.

@Shanus

I can't speak for anyone else, but I always appreciate your help and information.  I am not well versed on this sort of thing and I am grateful for the help!
