No more bleach or hair color for me for the last 2 + years. So happy with healthy soft natural colored hair. It had been pretty much decades since I saw my real hair color.

I can’t go the grey route because of my coloring. Some women look fantastic with grey hair and others in my opinion need some color. It’s not a surprise that many women as they get older go lighter or blonde altogether because of those darn grey roots.

I've been using Naturtints for a few years, it is more gentle than the regular drugstore brands.  I get it from Whole Foods or the Naturtint website. I mix a little 6N with a  6 Chocolate brown.  Very happy with results. I cut my hair short in December, coloring is easier now.

There's been no change to the formula. I love Colorsilk and have used it exclusively for years. Great color, no ammonia, and very reasonably priced. I remain thrilled to have found a hair color that checks all the boxes for me.

I started my home hair coloring journey with Loreal Feria and liked it.  Having never used anything else and wondering if I was missing something, I tried Sally's in-house brand, ION.  I didn't know at the time it was the store brand.  I picked out the color I wanted with the help of a sales lady.  My hair ended up SO black it was blue Smiley Surprised  And it took it's own sweet time to fade out!  I've used two colors in the Feria line and both looked nice with dimension.

Deeply Brown/Espresso (current and favorite) and

Deep Bronzed Brown

L'Oreal Paris Feria Multi-Faceted Shimmering Permanent Hair Color, 40 Espresso (Deeply Brown), 1 Kit

L'Oreal Paris Feria Multi-Faceted Shimmering Permanent Hair Color, 45 French Roast (Deep Bronzed Brown), 1 Kit

Have to admit COLORSILK is my brand too. In fact, I've gotten compliments.I sometimes alter the shade up or down to reach different effects. I find though that after color I shower and shampoo with a deep conditioner and my hair is great.

I would NEVER attempt to get rid of my gray hair using a $3 hair color from the drugstore! Nope. I only get mine professionally done. Well worth the time and money.

I have never paid anyone to color my hair, neither did my late mother. I am very satisfied with my Colorsilk. I would pay if I wanted highlights or something more fancy than what I get at home.

I wish Colorsilk was still $3, that is a thing of the past.

I would love to be able to do blonde highlights on my own hair at home.  The cost at the salon has skyrocketed since Covid. I'm afraid I would mess it up.

My hair is fine but I have a lot of it. I tried Colorsilk a few times and found it dried out my hair and it didn't give me the sheen that I always get with L'Oreal Excellence Hair color. I have also tried L'Oreal Preference but I found it messy to apply and Excellence is the best for my needs.

But I have seen beautiful color jobs with Colorsilk. It may depend on the shade. Some brunette shades look incredible. There is a poster here who has posted photos of her hair and it was incredibly beautiful. I know she said she has used Colorsilk for many years.
