I have this item as well.  

 

What I learned the hard way is that I can’t wrap my hair more than one time around the brush.  The release button on mine does not release (could be a defect in the one I have), at any rate, thought I was going to have to cut it out.  

 

I have fine, plentiful hair.

 

Too bad bad as I was very hopeful.
