I had always heard that retinol during the day was a no-no, but Cristina just announced this:

a good thing just got better. stabilized retinol in my spf. it's true true true. if you love help me at night (a dr. oz hot pick) than you will double love help me spf in the daytime. this new product is available first on qvc and qvc.com and is making its debut on the philosophy shows next week so be sure to tune in. if your skin is 16 or older i am encouraging all moms to start their daughters and sons on help me at night after cleansing and help me spf in the daytime to keep their skin bathed in the two most important ingredients in non-prescription topical skincare: retinol and spf. they are absolutely the best two products for preserving the integrity of skin.

I'm curious about this, but wary... Retinol/retinoids are not supposed to be worn during the day because they make your skin more sensitive to sunlight, and natural forms of retinol can turn toxic when exposed to sun. Also, retinol and sunscreen ingredients can destabilize each other. I certainly hope the Philosophy scientists have done their homework on these issues to avoid such problems in the new product...but I'm not sure! Philosophy has never been a sunscreen expert; they've never made a truly stable, high-PPD sun product. So, as I said, I'm wary about this.
