Re: Respectively re: Philosophy quality thread

Add me to the list of pepole that are skeptical that Philsophy will no longer be selling the seasonal shower gels.

If the person who wrote this could please list your source.

Re: Respectively re: Philosophy quality thread

As far as the products themselves, I am very happy with the fragrance lines. My recent purchases over the past year (Falling In Love, Unconditional Love, Living Grace and Amazing Grace) have been perfect and they really last.

Hi Tissyanne, I wanted to tell you that I also think Falling In Love is stronger now than it was in the past!

You know, even if I don't smell it on me, I continue to receive comments from strangers when I wear all of these different scents. And the cool thing is that I'm getting these comments as much as 10-12hours after I applied my fragrance products!

I think it helps that I layer the products in the fragance line. But I also believe we may not smell it on us as the day passes, while others who come up to us can definitely smell it.

I also am very happy with the quality of the Philosophy shower gels (i.e. the seasonal and year round scents). With the exception of the gelee formulas, I find the shower gel formulas very rich and creamy. I can wash my hair with them, and they leave my skin feeling very soft. I've tried the ones from the Body Shop and BBW, but they make me very dry and itchy.

There are many offerings of holiday sets right now. I like the idea of Philosophy expanding the scrubs this year. I have been using the Amazing Grace whipped body creme the last few days, and it smells wonderful. I do not see any indication of the selection or quality going anywhere but up.

Hi Tissyanne! I got it when they had the TSV with the 32oz Olive Oil Scrub, the 4oz EDP and the large whipped body creme. I had forgot how wonderful FIL was!

Re: Respectively re: Philosophy quality thread

It's not your nose, the strength of fragrances have definitely changed since Coty purchased the company. I have always rotated scents depending on my mood so my nose was never "used" to anything. At one point, I had so many items on A-D that I had a lot of extra stock in Amazing and Pure Grace - lotion, bath gel, spray fragrance both in old and new bottles. About a year ago I was at the end of a bottle of the original formula AG lotion and opened a new one (the old bottle was an original "distributed by Philosophy" and the new bottle "distributed by Coty prestige for Philosophy") and the scent was so faint, it smelled like nothing at all. I then checked another bottle - same thing. The new stuff, smells nothing like the beautiful original formulas and the scent is gone after an hour. For those of you who don't notice, did you use the products back in 2006, 2007, 2008? If so, you'd definitely notice. I have seen hundreds of comments from users like me who are lost without their beloved scents. I have had some kits on A-D since 2007 and finally cancelled them because they are just not the same. FYI - I bought an original bottle of AG perfumed firming emulsion off eBay and it was indeed the old scent I love! So, they definitely changed the formula. Had same problems with Pure Grace bottles.

Here is the thing - if Coty has skimped on the fragrances how can we trust they haven't changed formulas and cut corners on the skin care formulas? I just recently bought a new bottle of When Hope is Not Enough serum from Philosophy's website - the package is different and the fragrance is much stronger than my last bottle. Makes me wonder...
