Remoist question

I finally got around to trying my remoist from the June 1 OTO. The instructions just said apply liberally! Can anyone familiar with the process give me a better description of how I will know when I have used enough? I have long thick hair so I want to make sure I'm using enough, but given the cost I don't want to be wasting it either! Thanks!
