Re: Remoist - Quick Question!

When I first started Wenning my hair was a complete disaster. My oil production was insanely out of control and my face and scalp were super super oily. I didn't know then what I know now about dealing with overproduction of oil, so I was using harsh acne treatments, shampooing every single day, and I rarely used conditioner -- maybe once a month over a 3 year period. So when I started Wenning my hair was insanely dry and frizzy but also heavy and oily, if that makes sense. I'd never used heat tools or colored my hair or anything else other than just drying it out with poo.

Finny,

thank you for sharing this. It very reassuring. This is exactly how my hair is now. I've been weaning 3 weeks now and its been great.

Re: Remoist - Quick Question!

It had been months since I had used remoist overnight and had been concentrating on just using the oils a couple of times a week, so now I've been trying to do each one at least once a week, and if I do my hair three times a week I'll do the oils 2 times and remoist one time. The remoist sure makes my hair feel good.

My sister's name is Emily! Welcome to the Wen board!

It took me a long time to figure out that my attempts to dry out my skin and hair were just encouraging more overproduction of oil, and thus fueling my oily hair and acne-prone skin. But then I learned that I was stuck in a cycle where I would strip away the natural oils and my body would produce more, and I'd strip them away again, thus causing more overproduction of oil. Using Wen instead of poo (along with more mild cleansers on my face and skin) really helped my body to stop overproducing oil, and now I actually LOVE oils and I moisturize and do scalp treatments with them all the time!

Best wishes to you with your Wenning!
