I was scrolling thru the beauty buys and came across Smashbox Cosmetics. I'm sure many here remember there use to be Smashbox shows quite often right? Just wondering what happened. Looking at the list of products I noticed a lot of 5 star items so maybe it's so popular they don't need to have on air presentations anymore? Just wondered.

Yes I remember Smashbox and I liked their products. I think I had a brow kit and maybe some eye shadow. I also wondered what had happened to the company.

I remember when they were on all the time.
The brand seemed to fade on QVC when Holly Mordini, the brand rep, left the company. They stayed on for a while, went over to HSN, and then kind of disappeared. I also remember there was big hype about Holly starting her own makeup line and bringing it to QVC, but that never happened. It was too bad because I really liked her and I was looking forward to her new makeup line.
Smashbox is still sold at Ulta and Sephora. I have faithfully used one of their products for over 10 years now, but it seems to be discontinued, which is really upsetting to me. I'll have to buy a few off of ebay now to get me through until I find something else that works for me. Oh well.

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer is my primer. I order it from the Smashbox website. Their other products are available there as well. They have their studio in L.A. They are closely tied to the entertainment industry.

I remember Smashbox very well I used to buy their products at the Lord and Taylor flagship store on Fifth Ave in NYC. I bought there many year before there were on QVC.

@Goodie2shoes I remember Holly Mordini did the Smashbox shows. I was walking in the mall for exercise (because of all the rain) and they carry most of it in Macy's. I always loved their shadow palettes. Their nude ones were the best!!

Wasn't Smashbox related to Max Factor? I tried searching for the answer but got a little confused because I saw Proctor and Gamble and Coty involved so I am not sure who owns or owned who.

I too remember when they were on all the time. I bought A LOT of their products. Soon after they went away, I saw a huge display at Dillards. Everything was priced for clearance. I bought everything I could get.
My best friend still uses their foundation and blush, but I'm not sure where she buys them. She lives in NC.

@PhilaLady1 I think it was originated by the Max Factor brothers...maybe sons or grandsons of the original Max Factor. Maybe it's been sold to another company. This happens often with cosmetic companies.

@PhilaLady1 Smashbox studio was founded by Max Factor's grandsons, maybe they were great grandsons? They were both photographers. Their focus in cosmetics was products for the camera.
