For those of you who think it was gross to wash your hair once a week, I grew up in the 1950s and 60s.  My sister and I had our hair washed Saturday night for church on Sunday.  This was pretty much standard practice with my friends.  No styling products were used on our hair and it was brushed and set in Bobby pins every night.

@lulu1   Same with my family growing up in the fifties and sixties.
