? Regarding Glycolic Peel Pads

I have bought these pads at various times from 3 different companies.  All are 10% glycolic acid content.  Each co. suggests different frequency.  I have seen daily as well as every other day usage recommended.  Anyway, what is you experience with these pads...how often do you use, and what might be considered "too frequent"?  Thanks in advance.

Re: ? Regarding Glycolic Peel Pads

I would love to hear your results and the brands you have used. I am interested in this product, and I wondered did you have to rinse off the item after use.  Did it appear to help with hyperpigmentation or pores.

Re: ? Regarding Glycolic Peel Pads

To answer your question, the Loreal brand (recent release) states to use nightly and doesn't suggest rinsing.  Another brand (CVS) states to leave on up to 10 minutes.  I have been using them on and off for years.  I do love the results but am more worried about using them "correctly" which is why I posed the question.   You do have to be good about wearing sunscreen (SPF 30) if you use a glycolic peel.

Re: ? Regarding Glycolic Peel Pads

Years ago I used to buy them at a health food store (yes, can you believe it).

Now (ever since Dr. Denese came to QVC) I've used them every night.  Then I put on Hydroshield.  But before I use the pads, I use a micro-wash rag with warm water.  I don't use soap.  (It's amazing what comes off).  About two times a week I use Philosophy Sea Salt scrub in the shower.  That really takes off dead skin.  I totally believe the most important thing is to get off dead skin every night, then moisurize.

Re: ? Regarding Glycolic Peel Pads

@Gayle2  The recommendation may have something to do with the strength/percentage of glycolic acid within the product.  A lower strength pad could be used daily whereas a stronger product would be used less often.  I make my own pads, using a very thin pad I found really cheap on Amazon (they have similar pads at Sally Beauty) and the Alpha Skincare 14% Rejevenating Serum, which by the way, they say can be used AM & PM.  I think that's a bit much.  I use my glycolic pad every other morning and do a physical exfoliation on the in-between days.

The PTR pads are 20%. I used to use them every other day until I switched to PC products. His pads say to leave on up to 3 minutes then rings.

Re: ? Regarding Glycolic Peel Pads

Several years ago I started using Alphahydrox pads, discontinued now, which were 14% ga. Then after a few years of using them, they seem to not be strong enough for effective exfoliation. I searched for a stronger pad and found Glycolix Elite pads at 20% ga, strongest they make. These work very well for me...every other night, no rinsing. Gives me a really nice glow and has kept my skin clear of dark spots and uneven skintone. Glycolix pads also come in lower % ga for sensitive skin. Find them on amazon ...60 pads for around 25.

Re: ? Regarding Glycolic Peel Pads

I use Serious Skincare's gylcolic pads a few times a week at night.  Been using for years.  Also use their peel every once in a while in addition to Skinn's ABC peel.  I really like SSC's gylcolic products.  Also, just bought, but haven't used yet, Gylcolix 20% peel pads.  I'm a little nervous, but want to step it up.  Will do over the weekend.
