Thanks, everyone!  So kind to respond!  I have a whole page of notes from your suggestions and recommendations!  I was out shopping yesterday and I purchased 3 different red lip colors!  I don't know if any of them will work but I am going to try them out.  Also, after that if none of them work, I still have my list of your great recommendations and I will try some of them out!  You ladies are the best!!!!!!

I thought I was over red lipstick since I am a mature woman -- 71 -- but I find that I would like to find a red lipstick shade that isn't so shocking but would still look great against my very fair and aging skin tone and faded blonde/gray hair.  I don't want a matte -- too drying.  I do have to be mindful if a formua is too moisturizing as it will migrate or bleed in to some fine lines around my lips.  Also, I will not pay $20 or $30 for a tube!  I know that a lot of red shades in lip products would make me look strange - kind of like the Morticia look - no thanks - not flattering!

Anyone with any ideas????

Many good suggestions and I hope you find something that satisfies your needs. I am a huge lover of red lippies and have a great collection of various shades and textures. One suggestion I didn't see or may have missed is a sheer red lipstick. Years ago I purchased a stunning sheer red from Trish McAvoy. Long gone now but other brands do offer sheers that may be of interest to you. You can also sheer a more dense color by mixing a little gloss or balm on the side of the bullet with a lip brush. You can control the desired amount of sheerness by mixing more or less of the balm or gloss. I think balm may suit you best with this technique. Experiment. I've done this with soooo many lippies in which the original color was nice but much to dark, dense or intense to wear on its own. Credit goes to Holly Mordani who demo'd this when she was the Smashbox rep on the Q.

I also really love Tatcha's sheer red balm in a small pot. But unfortunately I do not see it being currently offered. Which is surprising with a holiday season at our feet. I saw couple are offered on ebay for $75 which is insane. Original cost was around $30 and I purchased mine on ebay for $22. A little goes a long way too. I do see a new berry color called Wisteria both available on Tatcha's site and the bay wth varied prices. Looks quite pretty but it's not your requested red.

Anyway, hope you've had great success in your search for your perfect red lipstick!

I love Tatcha's red balm and find myself reaching for this every day since I had my lips injected. It looks soooo much prettier, imo, with the change. What are we going to do! I'll see if there's plans to reorder more on Tatcha's site, reaching out to Simon in their CS! 🤞

Have you run across something similar,  or a dupe of some kind? It's such a great product!!!

Oh my lovely  little shopping queen, you scored well at Saks Off Fifth! Great discounts.  I love gwp's and have purchased many items after receiving those goodies. Geez, that's how I got into Tom Ford's fragrances. Not sure if I should laugh or cry, lol...definitely a laugh as I've collected some fabulous scents that I dearly love! 🤔😊🥰 I have received some of his lippes as gifts too. Very nice quality and very long lasting. You'll have to share how you like his gloss!

I'd love to spend a day shopping with you.🛍
