Recommendations for Shampoo for Oily Hair?

At my advanced age, I still have oily hair.  I have to wash it at least every other day and have never used conditioner on it.  It is not dry, I don't have split ends, I do not need smoothing, shining or oiling.

I just want clean hair that has some volume and is not weighted down with oils and moisurizers.  So anything to recommend?  Not harsh shampoo, but not smoothing or such.

I have oily, flat hair and I never use conditioners. I like this Suave shampoo. Cleans w/o stripping. Just plain good. It smells so good!

My hair is fine (lots of it but fine) and oily. When I was younger/still working, I had to wash my hair daily, not only due to the oils but also to remove any product residue (mousse or gel or hairspray) in my hair. Now the I am retired I've been trying different shampoos so that I don't have to wash my hair everyday.

Currently I am using Herbal Essences Bio Renew White Grapefruit and Mint shampoo and conditioner. It is a Paraben, gluten and sulfate free, volumizing formula. I wash my hair every other day and condition every other time I shampoo. It's been working well for me. I did try going 3 days but my hair did start to feel like it needed to be washed again. It's not expensive, so you might want to give it a try.

@FlyersGirl I agree and now I am having trouble finding that one.  I guess I will have to try another "flavor" (scent)!  Anything you like changes too soon doesn't it?

@SilleeMee   Yes I will try that!   And some people are unable to comprehend that some of us shouldn't even use them and do better without them.Woman Wink

Not sure if is drug related, but oily hair is real.

Only one spare jug of Pantene Clean left.  They seem have discontinued it and it had a pump on the larger sizes too.

Guess I am in the market too.

@Sooner, @FlyersGirl, @Still Raining

I have used Pantene Pro V Sheer Volume for about 20+ years, with no conditioner. Used to get the 32 oz with pump at BJs for $9.99. They discontinued that one as well.

I, too am in the market but everything is moisturizing, moisturizing, moisturizing. I don't need a moisturizing shampoo! What about the rest of us?

I like sulfates in my shampoo. Otherwise my hair doesn't feel clean. It helps my scalp to be less oily.

What to do, IDK...

@sugar plum Surely there are many others not after softening and moisturizing shampoo?  Woman Frustrated

What I have had most success with is L'Occitane Volumizing shampoo.  It is really expensive, but since I shampoo at least every other day I don't have to use much. But surely something cheaper is as good--but I have yet to find one.

I find that it cleans well, rinses well, doesn't hurt my hair and does leave it with some lift and feeling clean.  I do use it and then sometimes something more cleaning power and cheaper!!!  But it's the best I've found and I stock up when I catch it on sale.

@Sooner

Are you referring to the L'Occitane Aromachologie Volume & Strength Shampoo?

I looked on their site and the reviews are pretty good. Unfortunately, it's not part of their Summer Sale.

I'm adding it to my list and will wait for a sale to purchase.

Thanks!
