Really really really great soap

If you see a snow squall in your socks at the end of the day and your legs are dry and scaly in spite of lathering up w/moisturizer after your morning shower try a soap called 'basis'. I'd been buying all the so called gentle/mild/unscented soaps including the 1/4 moisturizer one to no avail.

Then a couple of weeks ago I remembered one a dermatologist recommended many years ago when I was having a devil of a time with exzema. It's called 'basis'. I got tired of trying to find it locally but naturally Amazon has it. I bought a 6 pack. What a difference. No more snow falling when I turn my socks inside out to wash, no more alligator legs. Some days I haven't bothered w/moisturizer at all.

For me this is a winter issue. In the summer sure I can get some dry skin but not like in the winter. My First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair still works for me on my arms and hands at this time of year but for whatever reason my legs & feet dry out terribly in the winter and need more help. So if you share that problem you might want to try the 'basis' soap. Maybe you can find it at your local CVS or Target or someplace if you want to just buy one bar to see how it works for you. Can't recall if Amazon sells it by the bar or a pack smaller than 6 cakes.

@shaggygirl   I've read that most of our soaps and shower gels have salicylates to make them foamy...they also dry the skin just as they do our hair.

I can't wait to try Basis. Thanks for the recommendation.

TY for mentioning this! I'm always on the lookout for a cleansing bar soap. This sounds like a nice one. Even though I do not have any dry skin problems and do not need or use body lotions.

Another great line of products is Vanicreme.  Several choices for bathing.

Salicylates dont make products foamy, they help to exfoliate ,it is sulfates that make the foam.

I have a friend with psoriasis and I wonder if this soap could be helpful to her.

Basis is a really good soap. I'd forgotten about it, so I appreciate your post.

I know that CVS used to carry it. I don't know if they still do.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Re: Really really really great soap

I used Basis soap ages ago and totally forgot about it. Might have to try again.
