I use my sponge damp.  I squeeze out excess water, of course, in a paper towel, so that it is just slightly damp.  It does such a great job!  I bought 2 extra at Target yesterday.  I threw away the blue one.  Thank goodness they are inexpensive!

@SurferWife   I have been using the orange sponge for quite a few years now.  Love them, apply makeup and then wash sponge with soap and water.
