Try Hydrocortisone Ointment, USP 1% (Walgreens brand). It is used for rashes due to cosmetics, detergents, eczema, etc. If it doesn't clear up in 3 or 4 days, see a doctor. I have sensitive skin but it has toughened up some since I am older but I only exfoliate once a week & use a mild exfoliator & cleanser by alba Botanica Hawaiian collection. Good luck & I hope you feel better soon. P.S. It is better that you ask you doctor first about using the Hydrocortisone Ointment just to get her/his okay.

I have that in the house too. Good to know that it is used for those kind of rashes. It seems like I am clearing up, and then I use something on my face and it flares up again. I thought my skin had become tougher with age, but something just set it off and I have to get it under control. Sounds like you are using really nice, gentle products. I will look into them. Thanks so much for caring....and yes, I will check with my Dr. and if it does not clear up I plan to see the derm.

Several years ago I had been switching products and started getting red flaky area on my face, Went to the derm and it was sebborah dermatitis. sorry about spelling. He told me to only use Vanicream light lotion to moisturize. And he prescribed an ointment to use. It totally cleared up and I used Atopalm for quite a while after that. I had totally messed up my skin barrier with all my products I had been using. After a few months I was able to go back to using whatever.
I still have some problems when I try a new product with a lot of actives though.

That is it... my skin is so reactive now to anything I use, especially anything with actives, that even if it is healing, it just goes right back to the red, dry, rashy patches. I must have upset the skin barrier for sure. Thanks for telling me what you used. I am going to look into those products. I was just too aggressive with my skin and it finally had it! LOL!

I love the EL products. The cleanser is so wonderful and you can wipe it off - no water needed. I miss the light lotion that was in the pump bottle, can't believe they discontinued it.

Without being able to see it, but by the description, I agree that it sounds very much like Contact Dermatitis.
I had the same reaction when I use anything that contains either or both Propylene and Butylene Glycols and I believe that PG is the cause of milia on my face.
Propylene Glycol has been shown in studies to cause Contact Dermatitis in patients that have been tested for PG while experiencing Dermatitis. If you google it you will be able to learn more.
Butylene Glycol causes my skin to react very quickly to it by producing symptoms of CD.
If both of the glycols' are in the same formulation my skin really rebels.
I have not had any reactions since removing those skincare products that contained these specific glycols. It may be worth an ingredient check on your skincare products and if they are in there, stop using them for awhile to see if they could be your culprit.
Edited to add: As always, if it worsens or you see no signs of improvement, please see a doctor.

I have milia like you wouldn't believe. I cannot stand it. I had the derm remove them but they just came back, and the removal process was extremely painful.. I am going to check all my skincare and makeup and check for Propylene and Butylene glycols. I didn't know that those ingredients were an issue for dermatitis and milia. Wouldn't that be something if that was the culprit? I am off to google those ingredients. Thank so much for that info. I really appreciate it.

I didn't either until I had to try and find out what the culprit of mine was. There still isn't much information in the world of science that definitively pegs PG/BG as the cause/s of milia, but that's ok. By removing them from use, and by not having the issues anymore is all the evidence I need because they were the only continual and common denominator.
We're all different and this was just my experience. I can't help but wonder though, how many other people are experiencing these issues because of certain ingredients. The skin can react to other triggers as well, so sometimes it's hard to determine what causes what.
Good luck, hope you find out what the cause of yours is.
