Doesn't "clean" refer to not using synthetic preservatives? Or, petroleum or phthalates or other synthetics?

@Harpa @That's the problem. Any company can call their product 'clean' because there's no industry wide or legal standard for the term. The term Clean Beauty is unregulated by any agency or by the cosmetic and beauty industry itself. Here at Q there is a standard for 'Clean' products. It was recently posted in a thread which I'll have to search for. OK, I found it. At Q, products clean products are assigned a Clean Beauty round green seal which indicates:

"The QVC Clean Beauty seal designates that a brand formulates products without sulfates (SLS and SLES), parabens, methylisothiazolinone/methylchloroisothiazolinone, formaldehydes, formaldehyde-releasing agents, phthalates, petrolatum, mineral oil, chemical sunscreens, coal tar, hydroquinone, triclosan, triclocarban, and talc.

It also indicates products contain less than one percent of synthetic fragrances and are certified cruelty-free by a third-party source."

@monicakm @I'm curious about the Shiseido in the black tube. They do make a few foundations and I'm pretty sure I'd feel the same way you do about your one on my left, next to the NARS since NARS is owned by them and we share the same fondness for the NARS with serum, but I'd like to hear what you have to say about the one you own.

I will say that the Lancome can oxidize quickly in the bottle, so for me, I only like it when it's received very close to the manufacture date. When I ordered my last bottle at Q I received an expired product that was orange and a horrible texture. When I investigated further, I found that on Lancôme's website, reviewers were also complaining of receiving expired products. I think the company had a backlog of older runs of product due to the pandemic. At that time, I was not able to find any new product.

@monicakm ---I think that is a genius way to figure out what ones you will keep---I have a few, maybe half, of what you have and need to wear them to see what are keepers!! Good idea!!! Same for blushes and foundation powders too-----oooh--how about concealers/lipsticks??? OMG---my new hobby for awhile!! Have so much that I don't wear and not even sure why----

I wore the Westman Atelier Foundation yesterday. I did not like the way it looked when I put it on and it was worse when I took it off. I thought I was going to declutter that but I'm going to give it another try using a damp Beauty blender dampened with all-nighter setting spray. I have a liquid Fenty and a powder Fenty Foundation that didn't make it in the picture. I need to try those and the foundations on the right end to see if I want to keep them or not.

The Shiseido product in the tube is a skin tint. I like it a lot . Are you wondering about the bottle to the right of the Nars Foundation? That is a Shiseido Foundation. I like it, it's a full coverage, somewhat glowy Foundation. I usually stay away from glowy but this isn't too bad and I can powder it to tone down the glow.

My Lancome Foundation expired 4/23. I'm not throwing it out. It's fine. My new bottle is dated 7/24. I can't say that I've noticed any oxidation with Lancome but I'm testing it right now. I have a Swatch on the back of my hand and in 10 or 15 minutes I will put another Swatch on the back of my hand and compare. Hey this is the foundation I wore to go see 🥰Patrick Mahomes🥰. Need I say more? ❤️🏈

I know! Me too. I'm going to do this with all my makeup categories.. sooner or later. I don't think I can do it with my lip glosses though. I might be able to choose the five that I reach for the most but I'm not getting rid of any of them! I've got a couple that are starting to smell funky but a little funky smell never hurt anybody 🙃

Just tested the oxidation of my Lancome Foundation. I'd say it darkened a good shade, maybe shade and a half more 🫤

And if you go to Sephora and look at their Clean list, theirs is so much longer than QVC's, by a LOT. Personally, I have no problem with parabens or petrolatum or even talc.
