I have to say every waking moment we are seeing/hearing of a new way to apply make-up, as if we've been doing it wrong all these years.  I just want my make-up to look neat and not overly done.

I'm not fond of a lot of the make-up looks trending today, especially with eyeliner, but that's probably because I'm getting older and couldn't carry off those looks anyway.

I agree , SurferWife. I don't watch a lot of youtubers telling us new ways to apply makeup. I've seen photos of some influencers, and don't care for the heavy makeup look. As long as I look presentable and neat, I'm OK. I need something to smooth fine lines, cover dark circles and add eye shadow to brighten my eyes. I can do without blush, lipstick, lip primer, highlighter, etc. that would only make me look overdone.

@SurferWife What you said goes for me, too! If going out, I do use a little highlighter under my brows, maybe a swipe down my nose, dot on my chin...all carefully blended. Eyeliner these days is dark brown, tightlined, no liner on top of my lashes, a swipe of a darker taupe under my bottom lashes. For me, at 67, a more natural look is better.
