When an individual  beauty product or kit has an impressive retail price about $40-$50 higher than the actual selling price, it’s including the cost of the brush, a trial size mascara, a throwaway makeup bag or some other item I don’t need. Leave out the brushes...choking on the number of brushes I own, etc. Instead, lower the price of the beauty item.

Case in point: Watching recording of Beauty Report from last night. Benefit Mascara & Primer Duo w/ Sparkle Bag listed Retail Value is $70. HSN price $39. Feature price is $29 and for sure, they’re still making a hefty profit. Smells iffy to me.

Re: RETAIL PRICES?

[ Edited ]

If the 2 eye products were full-size, they are $25.00 each so they were giving the make-up bag a $20.00 retail value.  $29.00 for 2 full-size products is a very good price.  I don't care for that mascara though and I don't use a mascara primer.

That makes sense.  That's like TSV with all kinds of items to raise the price and you don't use have of it.  I have never purchased a makeup TSV.  Brushes like other items are manufactured in bulk and probably costs pennies to make.

I don't buy those sets. I only buy a set when it's the same price or less than the individual products.
