Questions about Curling Irons/Wands

Thinking of getting one of these... I have long straight fine hair...

(1) Are the ones with the clip better or the wands without the clip? What are the pros and cons of each type?

(2) What size is better? 1 inch or 1.5 inch?

(3) Is Chi or T3 better, or are they comparable. Chi seems much cheaper...

(4) Do I have to apply any styling products to my hair in order for the curls to hold for a day? I wash my hair everyday...so, I only need the curls to last a day. But I don't like to have any styling products in my hair... I only use a hair serum on my hair and nothing else...Which brand or model of curling iron/wand doesn't need you to apply hair styling products in order for it to work and have the curls last for a day?
