Re: Question for “Double-Cleansing”

I have extremely oily skin.   "Double cleansing" to me...means twice a day!

Re: Question for “Double-Cleansing”

If I am not wearing makeup, I double cleanse. First with a cleanser and then a powdered exfoliant. If I am wearing makeup, I triple cleanse. Before washing with my cleanser, I remove my makeup with a balm and then rinse. Then comes essences and serums, retinol and glycolic acid and moisturizer.

@Desertdi

The term double cleansing refers to cleaning your face twice in one setting. Usually an oil-based product and then a cleanser.

Re: Question for “Double-Cleansing”

The only time I double cleanse is when I wear a tinted moisturizer or a light foundation.

On days that you do not wear make-up, do you still double-cleanse at night?

@SurferWife   If I didn't wear makeup, I still have my SPF on, so I do a just my 1st oil cleanse to remove it. If I'm in a hurry, I use my miscellar water on a cotton pad.

Re: Question for “Double-Cleansing”

I double cleanse most nights, because I wear a mineral based sunscreen and those are hard to remove.

My favorite first step is the Clinique Take the Day Off balm - I always stock up on their 30% off sales.  Or, I will use the Bioderma Sensibo Micellar cleansing water on a pad.

Then I follow with what ever cleanser I am loving at the time.  Some of my repurchased favorites are Clinique Mild cleanser,  Origins Plantscription cleanser, or Cetaphil Cream to Foam Cleanser, which is becoming my real favorite one and is at a great price.

Re: Question for “Double-Cleansing”

@Franklinbell  - @SurferWife gave you some really good suggestions.  The only thing I would add is that small brush heads will give you more control over where you put your blush/powder as compared to a larger fluffier brush.

Me neither. It doesn't matter if I wear makeup, sunscreen, moisturizer, or nothing.

The minority is growing...

If I have to remove my CC cream, I go over my face with a Kirkland (Costco) baby wipe before I wash with a facial cleanser (currently Cetaphil).  The wipes are also helpful when removing eyeliner.

That's the closest I get to two steps.
