Question about Glycolic acid

I was just wondering what this stuff does and will it dry my skin out. I have normal to dry skin and I don't know if I should use this and how often. I also have Dr. Denese facial pads that I only use twice a week. Can I use this on the same day I use my clarisonic? I'm just confused when and how much I should use these products. I also have prescription acne med with tretinoin in it. I don't really have acne but my derm gave this to me when I was going through a break out period. Should I use this in the morn or eve?
