Question about Genie (face tightener)

Yesterday I actually read the little sheet that came with the Genie bottle. It says we should not apply Genie over moisturizer. My big mistake over the years, I guess. But my question is: if I put the moisturizer OVER the Genie, will it affect it with rubbing etc?
