Question about Foundation Application??

I was curious how all of you apply your foundation (brush, sponge, fingers, etc)??? Also, do you apply a finishing powder? If so, do you apply it before OR after your blush?? The reason I ask is that I have been applying LG's B-n-B as a finishing powder if I use a liquid type foundation. If I don't, than my blush doesn't go on smoothly. But then I feel almost too cakey and not "dewy". Any suggestions?? Thank you!
