Question about Embellish by Calista

Do you have to be really savvy with hair products to use this? It looks like something I would like to try but I am not that good at styling and using products, but am getting better and more patient. I read the reviews and some love it and others hate it. What are you ladies who have tried it opinions? It looks easy, but it always does when the pros do it. Thanks for any advice.
