Pink, I don't get a menthol smell in any of the other flavors. I'm wondering if you're confusing the Tea Tree and Eucalyptus smells with menthol? Do you think that's possible? Have you tried any of the other flavors? I may not be the one to give you advice on one to try since I don't have your type hair. But my hair is dry and the new seasonal Summer Honey Peach is the most moisturizing I've tried. Good luck with your Wen experience!

Thanks Kathie!
I am still on the fence with the whole thing and still trying to get the perfect combo or whatever.
It seems to work well so far but it is a bit more complicated than I have wanted it to be and some days hair is great and others not so much.
For years as you may already know (fellow phil girl) I have used the philosophy 3 in 1's as shampoos with all the yummy scents and a good conditioner with no issues but I ""think"" my aging hair needs more now so I am dipping into the WEN pool.
Just wish I knew the perfect thing for me without having to try so much stuff. It gets expensive!
Thanks!

That is weird about 613 being drying when used alone. I sort of thought it was one of the more moisturizing since it is a treatment based formula.
Anyone else find 613 drying or anyone know why that would be?
Maybe I need to rethink the 613 since dry is one of my many issues.
Now I am a bit confused as to what would be the best combo or whatever for my hair.

I'm sorry Pink. I didnt mean to confuse you. In my experience I find that 613 is drying for my hair. I cannot use it as a CC alone, but I can mix it with another CC.
Usually I mix it with TT.
From the 32 oz bottle I should do 16 pumps. I will do 6 pumps TT and two pumps 613 for the first cleanse and repeat for the second cleanse.
I get very good results this way.

I cannot use 613 as it makes my normal to dry hair feel like straw- very dry and brittle. My hair needs more moisture, not protein/amino acids, which 613 has alot of. It can be drying to those that do not need the extra amino acids in it. I also feel that some of the ingredients in it can be drying to hair due to their astringent nature, like tea extracts and citrus extracts (lemon, grapefruit).

I'm cleansing daily now that it's hot & humid & my hair is dripping with sweat after my morning runs. I have shoulder length, very curly hair.
In the cooler months ( November thru April ) I can get away with every 2 to 3 days.
I use TT, Fig & 613.

I guess my newest question is I noticed by reading on here most of you combine CC's and other products as opposed to using only one thing.
I have tea tree, 613 and apple is on the way as well as some SHP.
Do I start with a core cc like the tt and add a bit of 613 with it or the other ones I have coming or what is the best way to combine and mix?
I guess that is probably individual to the person but I just want to get a combo or whatever that works and not have to keep playing around and guessing.
I guess that is part of the process though right? I just want to find own "hair miracle" system and go with it if you all know what I mean.
I try to keep it simple and streamlined. I have used philosophy shampoos in all those great yummy scents and a good conditioner for a long time with great results and no issues except my underlying hair type problems but I think my aging hair just needs something more and maybe chemical free and healthier.
Thanks again!

My hair continues to get better and better. I keep finding new ways to make my hair look better. I also love all the new and exciting products. Chaz knows how to keep us coming back for more. I don't use 613 anymore. It is too much for my hair. The only time it works for me is after a color. I use the seasonals and BGT as a once a week treatment. The rest of the time, I use the core cc's or kids line. I do like to use 613 to cleanse my face, though. You may want to check out the thread titled "What Cleanser Did You Use Today". It is a thread where Wen users post about how they use the Wen products. Hope this helps. Thanks for the responses!

Honestly, the mixing thing is just trial and error or whatever I feel like that day. I guess I started mixing to use up a formula I didn't care for like LAV. I mix the LAV with TT or SAM just to use it up (my friend keeps giving me bottles and luckily I like the way they smell together). I also mix TT or SAM with Fig because I like TT for my scalp, but need the moisture from Fig. Sometimes I throw some 613 in the mix just for an extra boost. Basically, there is no right or wrong...just whatever you like!

When I first started using WEN I was only using a core CC. I then started using 613 and found it to be drying to my hair. I didnt want to throw it away, so I just started mixing it with the core CC to use it up. I found that it worked better for me that way.
That is how I started mixing products.
Now, I love SHP and what it does to my hair and after using it a couple of weeks I realized that it was going pretty quickly. I decided to do TT for my first wash and SHP for the second just to keep from using it up so quickly.
I do agree with FLsunlover, there is no right or wrong way to do it.
