Question about Cream Blush??

Hi. I have a quick question about cream blush. I know lots of you really like it and I've seen it used on models and it looks so nice. My question is how do each of you apply it--with your fingers, a brush, etc??? The reason I ask is that I have tried some in the past and I can't get it to look "natural". In fact, it seems to settle into my pores. Maybe it's just not for me, but if I'm not applying it correctly, I'd like to try again!!! Thanks for your help!!
