Have very fine color treated hair.. Has anyone tried mixing a little conditioner with mostly shampoo to cleanse ? When I use conditioner separately, even just on the ends, it makes my hair so soft it won't hold a style. I wear a short Bob.

I read your post yesterday and thought "I'm going to try that", so I did this morning. It worked pretty well. Good idea! Maybe a little better than those 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioners on the market. I have fine hair that is heavy even with layers, so conditioner weighs my hair down as well. I also have a short bob haircut. I have been tempted to try that reverse conditioner/shampoo system Tresemme came out with recently.
If you haven't tried a leave-in conditioner, you may want to. Sometimes I skip conditioner, then use a few sprays on damp hair and that doesn't make my hair too soft like conditioner does. I like Aussie Hair Insurance.
Not sure what you use as far as styling products, but I get really good results from Sebastian Volupt Spray (bought on Amazon). It gives me volume and lift even if I've overconditioned. Finish with a good hairspray and you should have a good style. I live in Louisiana so humidity is always an issue. Hope this helps and thanks for the suggestion about mixing a little conditioner with shampoo. Believe me, I feel your pain!
