Question Josie Maran foundation vs tinted moisturizer

I just turned 60 and have finally decided to give up on any kind of powder-type foundation. I think I'd like to try Josie Maran, but am really confused as to whether to try the foundation or the tinted moisturizer. They both have good reviews but some of the reviews on the TM make it sound like it is thicker and covers even more than the foundation? Can anyone explain the differences between the two products? TIA
