@AngelPuppy1  - You can purchase "Lots" of travel sized mascaras on Ebay for good prices.  I've done this before and purchased travel sized Clinique mascara.

Here's an example of one lot of 5:

Lot of 5 Clinique High Impact Optimal Mascara 01 Black 0.14 oz/3.5ml Each NWOB - Picture 1 of 1

Here's another one for 10 in one lot:

Lot of 10 Clinique High Impact Mascara #01 Black .14 oz/3.5 ml each -Travel Size - Picture 1 of 2

@San Antonio Gal

That sounds nice and I really appreciate the suggestion but I just never shop on ebay.

@AngelPuppy1 Mascara will last quite a while without changing formula or smell.

If you just want to keep it sanitary, buy some disposable mascara wands & use those with your mascara.

That will keep it "clean" & it will last quite a while.

@Dusty1

I just thought the formula itself got old after a couple months.  Thanks for the suggestion!

Brands make minis. You can always get a mini from one of them.

Was going to suggest travel sizes too--I know Ulta has a big shelf at the cashiers wrap filled with all sizes of try-me sizes. I nearly always go to ebay to try out the new makeup/skincare lines from here--and pay very little to try to out--see no sense in buying a big size then having to pay to send it back--I've done that a few times myself--no more!!! Been doing that lately with trying Sunday Riley items as well as a few new PTR things too---and usually free shipping----

@wagirl

I might try Ulta but I never shop at ebay.  Thanks for the suggestions!

Try buying minis...That is what I usually do. I like trying different brands, so I usually check to see if they offer a mini size or a travel size......A lot of brands are offering travel sizes.......Easier to use up..

Apologies to those that already read this, bit want to share my experience.  I accumulated several mascaras due to auto-delivery, and when I opened a brand new one maybe a year later, it was dry, as were all of them, including the newest ones.  (They were "It" brand.)  So I would not hoard mascara.  Maybe 2 tubes at a time at most.

@NYCLatinaMe

I have a bad habit of being in a store and buying different brands and then just putting them aside.  Then when I go to need one, they are old.  I have to stop doing this as it is a waste of money!

I didn't know how to word this.  What I was meaning was this:  I seldom use mascara but I want to have some handy for when I do want to use.  By the time I often use it, it is older and I am concerned that it may not be safe or good to use.  Has anyone ever seen mascara made in very small containers in multiple packs so that if you open one, it only has enough product for a couple uses and then you toss, and then you have 2 or 3 other containers which are sealed and unopened?  Thanks!

@AngelPuppy1   You may be able to snag some sample sizes in gift sets or beg for some at makeup counters in dept. stores. I know Lancome used to keep samples for customers to try since they carry so any different formulas. Gifts w/ Purchase sometimes include a small mascara.

Whenever they go on sale (BB just had 25% off siteside), I purchase the mini Smokey Eye Mascara duos. Each one lasts about 2 1/2 months and I have several unopened backups.

@Shanus

Thank you for the suggestion.  I don't usually buy sets of things.  And for the most part I use Laura Geller makeup or Cover Girl and you don't get free with purchase with these two.

@AngelPuppy1   Go on Amazon and search travel size mascaras.  There are many options.

Re: Question: Is there such a thing as tiny mascara containers for those of us who seldom use it?

@AngelPuppy1 Different mascaras have different life spans before they change.

The blacker the mascara, the quicker it gets clumpy or dry.

I guess it's because of the extra black pigment?

So if a mascara comes in black, extreme black, ultimate black, blacker than Satan's soul..I just go with black.

I love mascara & I usually have 3-4 open at a time. I use them one at a time or layer them to get more lashes.

The "rule" of opening a new mascara every 3 months is to keep it sanitary. I'm clean & don't worry about that.
