Does anyone know why skin care companies concoct creams that contain collagen?
Doesn't it seem far fetched that this collagen would somehow "sink in" and be used by the skin to reduce wrinkles?
Thanks if you have any suggestions about the how and why of this!

My understanding is that the collagen molecule is too large to be absorbed by the skin unless it has been nanofied (is that a word?).

Collagen is a protein and proteins have the ability to hold moisture. So basically most collagen creams and serums are good moisturizers, nothing more.

@LTT1 My understanding is that there are really good collagen creams that have collagen molecules that have been made small enough to penetrate the skin to the dermis but they are expensive because of that process. Companies knowing that there are many women who think cheaper products are just the same so they take advantage of that to market products with collagen not processed to penetrate the skin.
