Question About Nailtiques Formula 2

Based on suggestions from other posters, I dedided to try Nailtiques Formula 2 for my peeling nails. Hopefully I will be able to finally grow my nails out. I used it for the first time just now and put 1 coat on as instructed. My problem is that it dries almost feeling rough. I'm used to wearing polish but the instructions said apply the Nailtiques daily and wait until nails are better before applying polish. I'm used to the shiny look and feel of polish. How long should I wait before I can resume my polish??
