The charges, plus tax, usually add almost $10 an item. Why would I give them any more of my money, especially when other sites offer discounts or free shipping. Seems to me that, for some customers, the "advantage" to shopping with QVC is value pay. Other than that, I sure don't see any plus.
True. And, according to their CEO, HSN has made it their mission to reduce S/H charges and to offer more items with free S/H (not "included," as QVC often does). It shows.

They have the highest shipping prices I have seen anywhere and they take the longest time to get here than any other company.
If they can get a SG item here in less than 24 hrs ,why can't they do it with everything?

The citizens are revolting! About time. No thoughtful shopper would pay these exhorbitant fees when they can shop so many other places for so much less.

I agree about the shipping charges. I was going to order the PTR TS, but the shipping is almost $10. NO WAY!!!!

A small jewelry item usually costs less than $2 to ship first class. Here is my theory, maybe wrong: The cost of shipping covers the shipping as well as the pay for shippers, packers, supplies, etc., so basically it costs QVC nothing to ship most items--it's all profit for them.
I don't know if this is correct, but I'm an ebay shipper and I know how much it actually costs to ship with discount that companies get. Q is making a fortune on shipping. It also allows host to say something is 'under $20 or $19.00 and change' when in reality it's more like $30 after shipping, tax, etc.

My dear, dozens (hundreds?) of QVC's online competitors sell comparable items at competitive prices with NO added shipping and handling fees whatsoever. I shop extensively online at a variety of places, compare prices, take advantage of sales and coupons -- and NEVER pay a dollar of add-on S&H. (Of course, the seller is covering the S&H costs in the price......but when they manage to keep the price competitive, that's fine.) QVC is simply using high per item S&H charges as a profit center and betting that their habitual customers will continue to impulsively "pull the trigger" and not take time to think about costs. Sorry, QVC: the peasants are waking up!

I was told it was legal as long as the company was making a profit on the SH. Obvious profit when putting a lipgloss in a huge wad of bubble or paper then sent in a box or envelope 5 times too big!! And often the SH are nearly the same whether it's for a $30 item or $100 item. WHY?? I get no good answers from the QVC CS either.Stick to your guns girl! - in my State another 8% is added on top of product and S/H so I shop around for a better deal all the time. Tons of other websites out there and I buy very little from the Q any more.
what??? I am so missing the logic here- it is legal as long as the company is making a profit on the SH??? That just doesn't seem right!! Well, QVC can never claim they don't make a profit from S/H!!
I believe it is in their yearly financial report so it's public record and the last time someone quoted their yearly s&h profit, it was in the millions. To say they make a profit is like saying you can get wet when it rains - just a tad of an understatement

Q's prices aren't the lowest and shipping is getting stupid. When I see a Lunchtime Special and the shipping is 1/2 to 100 pct of the purchase price, I pass on it. Yes, gasoline is more costly but still, we rarely get a break here.
I worked for a chemical firm first job out of school YEARS ago and learned that shipping can be a profit center. And that big firms get breaks on shipping costs (which is why Ebay sellers are struggling who are small sellers. They pay the most.) You have to shop responsibly. I love Q's products but when shipping is insane and there is a risk of return, I have to think carefully.
