Puzzled with "QVC Insider Membership" Program???

Hi Beauties .. :-)

Marketing wasn't my major in college, and perhaps some aspect of "marketing" is the answer I'm seeking, ... but ...this $12 "QVC Insider" fee is baffling me. I have several questions ..

What is the idea behind QVC, successfully pocketing a guaranteed $12 from their patrons, with the universal understanding, that QVC will be relinquishing NOTHING to these $12 patrons??

I mean, the "$12 patrons" aren't able to purchase anything, that the "non-$12 patrons" can't purchase, AND at the same price, right??

..... Do the "$12 patrons" get $12 off a purchase? Or, ..

Are the "$12 patrons" .....

..... Able to purchase an exclusive item that the "non-$12 patrons" are not able to purchase? Or, ..

..... Offered those FREE S&H on QVC postcards sent out each year, Or ..

..... Able to purchase an item at a lesser price than the "non-$12 patrons?" Or, ..

..... Offered samples, or a "gift with purchase" that the "non-$12 patrons" aren't afforded also??

..... etc

From a consumer perspective, what incentive do $12 patrons have, if QVC offers NOTHING that the "non-$12 people" aren't also able to purchase, AND for the same price??

HSN offers "New Arrival" items moving vigorously throughout the day, AND many of these advance "New Arrivals" are significantly reduced, and ANYBODY can see these items ... no $12 pocketed fee imposed. And .. even coupons can be used on items, such as advanced TSVs. Additionally, frequent FREE S&H days are open to anyone.

How is QVC able to successfully charge QVC patrons an additional $12, and provide these patrons with NOTHING?? Why would anyone be attracted to this additional QVC expense?? Is this some kind of Marketing Psychology? TIA
