I stopped coloring my hair a few years ago and love the bright silver color I have now. My eyebrows are still very very dark and I like the contrast.

I'm outside alot walking my dog, cutting grass etc.  My silver is dimming to dull grey.  Anyone have experience with the purple shampoo I've read about?

@MoJoV  I haven't colored my hair since 2013. Like you, my hair is a gorgeous silver, white and blonde. I have been using Oligo brand purple shampoo for years and like the results. I buy it from Amazon but Target sells it too. I also use their conditioner.

Hope this helps. Good luck

I have sparkly white hair and tried a couple of purple shampoos.  They both darkened my hair.  The best thing was a water filter on the shower head and using a cleansing shampoo occasionally.

I have highlghts.    I mix purple half-and-half with my regular shampoo, to avoid any "unusual" pinkish (or bluish) shades showing up...

Also, I do NOT use this every time I shampoo, to avoid any buildup.

I use purple shampoo a couple times a month to tone down brassiness in my highlighted blonde hair. Been using it for many years. Works really well for me.

I've tried 6 different purple shampoos. I keep going to to Matrix So Silver shampoo.

I also use Matrix Total Results So Silver leave-in spray which makes a big difference. But don't use as much as the bottle says. I spray it on my hands and work through my hair.

Some purple shampoos darkened my gray, and others did nothing to help retain the bright silver.  I'll stick with Matrix.

@MoJoV   They work.  I use Clairol Shimmer Lights.  I use it about once a week or whenever needed.

And for those of you who are not yet grey and have highlighted hair, it works when the highlights turn brassy.  The highlights will go back to the original highlight color.

I always wear a hat outside to keep my hair bright and free from the chance of yellowing in the sun.

When my silver hair needs a boost I use Olaplex in the purple (Olaplex No.5P for purple toning).
