I just got blonde highlights and want to keep them brass free. Has anyone had great results with a specific purple shampoo? I’ve been looking online but can’t decide. I’m looking for something that removes the brass but doesn’t dry my hair out severely.
Any recommendations are appreciated. Thanks.

Um, have you looked at today’s WEN TSV?

@Mimichic I buy this brand of shampoo and conditioner... I buy it at fred meyers but it is sold everywhere including Walmart. Runs about $4.99 each per bottle of shampoo and conditioner at my fred meyers.
Jhirmack Silver Plus Ageless Shampoo and Conditioner Hair Care Duo 12 oz.

Wow. That’s ironic. I saw Wen but didn’t look at the details. Unfortunately, I was one that had issues with hair loss from Wen, so not sure if the formula has changed. I know everyone has different experiences, but that was mine with using Wen, and I tried many different ways of using it with the same result.

I have blonde highlights but can't use WEN either. Maybe your hair stylist might have some recommendations? I use Matrix Color Care shampoo and it doesn't turn my highlights brassy.

I will not buy or use WEN with all the issues many have had with hair loss. Not worth it. Many other options to choose from that are better for your scalp.

On the recommendation of my stylist, who is also my daughter, I either get the Redken Color Extend Blondage or the AG Sterling Silver Toning products - they both come in shampoo and conditioner. Keep in mind, these purple products don't replace your regular shampoo and conditioner every time you wash your hair. You only need to use the purple ones occasionally, depending on your shampooing schedule. Once or twice a week should be sufficient.

John Frieda Sheer Blonde Colour Renew is what I use and what works for me. I use BOTH the shampoo and the conditioner as the shampoo can be drying. No more than 2x per week.

Purple shampoo is used for keeping white blonde highlights bright. Rene Furterer's Okara Silver Toning Shampoo is a very nice brand of products. Used & sold in beauty salons & online of course, only. Google for details.

I really like one I picked up on Amazon for $8 and some change for an 8 oz bottle. Its called Softly Silver, it is a (rinse out) shampoo and conditioner all in one. Its made by the brand Miracle of Aloe, has 20% pure aloe in it for softness. My hair feels very healthy, not strawy at all. Its a pretty light purple colored creamy cleanser and conditioner (in one) with very nice, very slight scent!! ![]()
I know of one salon that carries it in my area too.
