Sally's sells a "neutral" filler that should be fine for whatever color you decide to go with. I think you get better results with it when you put it on your hair for 20 minutes before you start to color. If you do the other method (mixing it in directly with your color mixture), it tends to make the color mixture more runny. Also, the filler is easier to apply if you transfer it into a small spray bottle before you use it.
The Sally filler works well, normally you use a red one if going from blonde to dark brown. They can probably help u some.
Thanks, blankette. I will be going to Sally's in the next couple of days. I'm still not positive I am brave enough to go brown. I'm still wondering why 2zbeach said it would be easy to go back to blonde if I decide to.

Because you'll have to remove the brown color before you go blonde. You can't just apply a blonde color over a brown color, or you'll end up with orange hair. You have to remove the dark color and then go blonde in stages, which can be very damaging to the hair. If you are not sure if you'll like going brown, why not try a temporary wash out color? (Like Roux). That way you can see if you like the color before committing to permanent color.
