Products that Pill

[ Edited ]

Been using some new SKINN products and have found that the Eye Reset serum is causing the eye cream I put on top of it to pill.  I follow the instructions and put the serum on and then let it absorb completely before dabbing on some eye cream.  Tried using the Manuka Oil instead of eye cream and it still pilled but not as much.  Thought about not using eye cream or the oil at all but I feel my eyes need a bit more than just the serum.

Not sure why it's pilling or even what causes products to pill.  Could I be using too much?  Or is it that the two products just don't mix well?  Or?  It drives me nuts, don't like feeling all the little bits of "pills" on my face/eyes.  LOL Thought all the beauty experts on here may have some insight into why products pill.  TIA!

Using too much and not giving it enough time between applications are two of the biggest reasons why products pill.

@SilleeMee - Thanks I"ll try cutting down on how much I use.  I feel that I'm waiting long enough as I usually do the SKINN Reset serums first, then go off and do stuff around the house, maybe watch a bit of tv and about 20 or so minutes later, finish up with my routine.

@JudyL

I use one of these fans on my face when I need to dry down my products. Speeds things up a bit when I'm impatient.

@JudyL I like misting an essence between steps. The dampened skin will slightly thin the product and help it absorb. For my eye area, I'll mist, apply a little HA serum, any other lightweight serums, then split 1/2-3/4 pump of the Skinn Age Reset Eye.  I'll apply my facial moisturizer, then eye cream right away.  I never wait, it would take forever to finish my routine.  No pilling here.

Do either of these products contain silicone?

@JeanLouiseFinch - I see you put other serums on first then the Eye Reset.  I just use the Eye Reset and an eye cream so thats why I put the Reset on first because the eye cream is a thicker consistency..  Also I use SKINN essence all over my face before night and morning skin care but not sure I've put it under my eyes.  Lots of things to try!  Thanks for your input.

@RollTide2008 - I don't see ingredients listed on the container.  Think they were on the box but threw them out.  Will check their website.

That fan is the best thing ever! It stays charged for a very long time. I can't remember when I charged it last...could have been 3 months ago and I use it every day. Small and fits under my sink in the bathroom.
