Product overflows when putting pumps in WEN bottle

Does anyone have this problem? It always happens to me. I open the bottle and bang the bottom on the cabinet to get the product to settle in bottle, but it always overflows when I put the pump in. Any suggestions other than using it first without a pump and then putting in pump?

They usually include a note to let the bottle stand upright for a period of time (I forget exactly how long, 10 minutes?). Since I have been doing that, I haven't had any overflow.

Let the bottle rest and cool down before trying to insert the pump. I only have the problem when the bottle is just delivered and been agitated or in a hot climate.

Because I live in a high altitude, this happens with all lotions, etc. that are shipped here.

I know there is usually a note in the box with the Wen products, but I let the bottle rest for an hour or so, then take off the lid and let it rest another hour. Usually it will then settle enough to insert the pump.

Instructions say to let it rest before putting the pump in.

Thanks to all who responded. I don't remember seeing a note in the box, but I am letting the bottles settle right now. I usually try it after it is delivered. Right now we are having 98 degrees with a lot of humidity, you sweat just standing outside!!! I will let it settle and cool down for a while, thanks again!

I didn't see that note either, but I tapped my bottle on my hand or counter to get the air bubbles out. I suppose letting it sit for a bit would work too.

Re: Product overflows when putting pumps in WEN bottle

Hi BetsyDoodle, If you are impatient (like me!) or if allowing time for contents to settle does not seem to work, please try the following: First, unlock the pump by turning the pump head counterclockwise. Second, place the pump into the bottle, but only half way. Holding it in that position, pump a few times (usually 3-4) to get the CC flowing through the see-thru tube, but not enough that it actually dispenses out through the pump. By getting a few pumps flowing through the tube the CC level will go down a little, just enough so that you can fully insert the pump and tighten with no spillage. Works like a charm for me every time. Good luck!

Re: Product overflows when putting pumps in WEN bottle

Just wanted to let you all know that I let the bottles settle for an hour and put the pumps in them without any problem! Thanks to all for the tip. I never had a note anywhere in the box, but I knew someone would help my on the WEN board. I really want to try the 613, I know people that have tried it loves it.
