I am in search for a product you can spray on your dry hair before you use an electric styling item that would protect, and give a little volume. Any suggestions?? ![]()

Any regular hair spray will work. My hairdresser uses her shop spray - lightly spray and let it dry before using a hot tool. At home I use the spray I like best. Just buy a normal product.

there are many to give protection
for volume you need to use something instead of a curling iron, have you tried electric rollers, they pump up the hair like nothing else

IF you use any kind of hot tool, ie, curling iron, flat iron, etc. you should first use a heat protectant product first prior to applying any heating object. If you don't, you will indeed dry out your hair and probably fry it. You can buy these products at any beauty supply store such as Sally's.

My stylist used Redken Iron Shape 11 last time I was there and I bought it and really like it so far. It has "heat re-styling technology, apply once, add heat to re-shape style........spray on wet or dry hair before styling with an iron to protect from heat, lock in shape and add shiny finish. Apply to dry hair for memory and added shine."
I've only used it on wet hair before I blow dry and style so far. I also forget I'm supposed to "shake well before using", so I'm probably not getting the full benefits. It's about $19 for 8.5 oz, which isn't too bad for this type of product for the amount you get.
Forgot to add that the control level is medium, will give a little volume, not a lot.

@Katcat1 My stylist suggested argan or marula oil but both leave my hair dirty feeling and flatten any volume. I’ve been trying out some drugstore brands. Will review if I find a great one.
