Problem with foundation lid

The lid for my foundation has cracked. I hold the lid in my hand as I swirl and tap and it has cracked so badly that I can't seal the jar now. Has anyone else experienced this? I don't think that I'm holding it with a super tight grip, it just seems like the lid isn't durable enough. I purchased this foundation only about 6 weeks ago. Any suggestions??
