I am 73 great skin when younger, now many dark spots. Use it cc cream if wearing makeup.

always use my Dhc Velvet Skin primer it smooths skin, blurs imperfections and helps makeup go on.

It is sold on A, just a small amount is needed.

Primer is usually the only thing I wear anymore. I find my liquid foundations are way too thick and heavy on their own--but I do add the primer to them on occassion and that works well. Been using Dr Brants pore reducer primer--love that--and like Laura Gellers spackle too. Maybe go to ebay and look for small samples of primers--I do that all the time.

If it weren't for my pores, I probably wouldn't use primer.  I've not noticed a difference in makeup application or how long it lasts using a primer.  There are skincare items that claim that you can use as a primer, so that might be an option.

I have been using doll 10 luminous primer. I do feel it makes a difference. Especially under the rms sun coverup because it has no silicones in it. But it pairs beautifully with the doll 10 tinted moisturizer.

It depends on the kind of skin texture and lines you have plus the skincare products you're using. Some people don't need primers, others do.

A lot of moisturizers and sunscreens have dimethicone in them so you really don’t need one unless you’re looking for a glowy base. My biossance moisturizers I was using did not have silicone. The naturium ones I just got do so they probably would make a great base for makeup without primer

As another poster wrote, my understanding is that primer helps make-up look better, more even.  I don't use it and my uneven skin tone looks more uneven when I use cream or liquid foundation, which is what I use, than without foundation.  I have dry skin and won't use powder.  I am thinking it would be better if I did use a primer, and I have bought some, but I never make the time.  I have never had much patience with make-up application.  I do use some, and will do nicer make-up for nicer events.  Just not a lot of patience for it.  I can see in other people in the internet, or before, in print, how much better they look with a good make-up application, but for some reason I never FEEL like I look better, and don't recall other people that I see looking better at events.

Maybe I need better technique.  But that means I have to practice, and I don't make the time for that either.  Don't like putting things on and taking them off, which one needs to do to try different things.  I FEEL like that would take a toll on my skin.  It's probably not as bad as my instincts tell me.  I need patience.  I do believe in skin care, I do KNOW that makes a difference.  I CAN SEE that.  I do believe in keeping it simple, but don't think moisturizer and sun protection are the only things needed for good skin.  Exfoliation is IMO ESSENTIAL, and I have found serums and treatments that make a difference in my skin texture.  So I have skin care products I like and use regularly and do try different things hoping they are better.

Laura Geller has a primer with SPF30. It is very slightly tinted and I wear it alone and without makeup. It doesn’t make a dramatic difference in the way makeup looks but I like that it is moisturizing and has sun protection in one step.

I am 73, but I still have an oily T zone, I often use a primer in the T Zone only and one that is mattifying.
