I have long been a fan of Smashbox Primers. But, on a whim I picked up NYX's Marshmallow Primer and I really like it!

I don't know how it works for other skin types but for mine, Hourglass Primer is perfection.  I'm not trying to stop oil or cover pores.  Just want a smooth silky canvas for my foundation and this Hourglass primer does just that.

@JudyL   Those checkout area are "dangerous". I've ended up with a basket filled w/ hair products, makeup, facial cleansers/toners/moisturizers, tweezers....

I had a tester and I know Hourglass makes an amazing primer, but quite pricey...

@Shanus - I agree!  Some of the stuff is pricier than you think and can add up quick!

Thank you all so much for your recommendations @JudyL @Skyegirl21 @Shanus @monicakm @Jacie @Boehm Collector ! And great suggestion about looking for travel sizes, especially since I always feel compelled to use whatever I buy whether I like it very much or not😬. I appreciate the heads up about the Smashbox primer sale at Ulta next week!

@Skyegirl21  @monicakm Which version of hourglass primer do you recommend? I believe I remember seeing there were a few to choose from.

I have tried many primers that did not work to cover over/blur my pores and make my skin a smooth palette.  Threw out Hourglass and Tatcha.  This is one that has worked the best for me and is on sale today for 30% off.  It is expensive but I can always catch it on sale.  It is also beneficial for your skin.

Two products I always recommend!

One is the Hourglass primer.  It IS pricey, however it does last a long time.  Last I ordered, they had a smaller version for less.  It comes out white and has SPF in it.  It is fabulous for concealing pores.  I do have a recent criticism of the bottle dispenser.  Have had trouble with it dispensing properly, for some reason.

My other recommendation is Mally Poreless Face Defender.  I felt I had tried everything to "set" and remove any shine.  Nothing has worked like the Mally product.  I am not a big fan of her line for me, but the Face Defender is a winner.  I seldom have to apply anything (except lipstick touch ups) to my face for many hours.  You just PAT IT ON gently and you have no shine and it truly blurs pores.  I have a to go version, but seldom need to use it.

My winner for primers is Hourglass!
