Re: Prescription Tretinoin (generic Retin-A) alternatives

I do not want to stir the waters but any one travelling overseas to Portugal can pick up Retina A .05% (Ketrel) in any Pharmacy for 2.30 Euro a tube.

I also have gotten my return a from all day chemist which is an Indian company and they have several different creams and gels and they are effective and work. I would at least order one time before saying the products are not effective.

w84WEN these ladies do not need to worry about me giving them anymore professional advise. I have 20 years as a medical esthetician, I am a registered nurse, and I have worked for two of the BEST known dermatologists in the country..but that does not make me qualified?!?!? I was only trying to help, but I have seen that these forums are not about that. Thank you for understanding what I was trying to offer w84WEN. I guess they think the Louis Vuitton they buy off ebay from Asia is authentic also!

That's about enough with the insults. If you want to come here and be accepted, the first priority is to be nice. It goes a very long way.

Again I will tell you, I personally did not buy from Asia, so I will not debate that with you, however, I will call you out on your nasty, holier than thou attitude.

You are brand new (maybe?) around here. We don't know you at all, with no posting history. Anybody can come on a message board and claim to be whatever they want.

You could say you are the Queen of Sheba and we don't have any way to prove or disprove it.

We have to take everyone at face value and let me tell you, so far, I'm not liking the face you are putting out there and I don't think I'm alone feeling that way.

What gave it away nurse, or the put down of those who buy expensive purses?

I am a medical Esthetician and you are taking your own health in jeopardy by buying prescriptions from Thailand!!! Not to mention it is ILLEGAL! Good luck with that and when you have a serious issue or burn on your skin then you will have no one to blame but yourself!

I probably wouldn't buy it from China. But I've been ordering Retin-A from ADC, or from a woman here in the U.S. who does a group buy from ADC, for several years. Before that I bought it from Mexico. It's the real deal according to my results and the opinion of a derm I discussed the purchase with. Calm down, chloesmoma.

There are a lot of Rx drugs made here in the U.S. and supposedly approved by the FDC that I wouldn't ever take or use. I don't blindly trust the FDC.

Re: Prescription Tretinoin (generic Retin-A) alternatives

For anyone who is interested in the tretinoin I purchased from eBay (via Thailand), it says right on the front of it "Retin A" manufactured by Janssen, which is a division of Johnson & Johnson...who have the patent on Retin A in the United States.

Just because it says it on the label does not mean that it is the real deal. Having said that, it is a well known fact that we here in the US bear most of the costs while the exact same medication costs pennies in other parts of the world.

You are accurate about how it might be counterfeit; however, the product works great...and at an extremely low price.

I was ONLY trying to educate some who may not know about some of the dangers and I also offered advise on another question when I was asked about a product line and how to use it. I was jumped on so I jumped back. I do get defensive when people question my integrity and sometimes tone can not be detected in a message or text. I was willing to offer any help anyone wanted or needed about skin and skincare because I am good at my job and have been trusted to offer it for 20 years. I do think it is dangerous and irresponsible to buy prescription medications from Thailand or Asia so I will not apologize for that but I will apologize if my delivery of my professional opinion offended anyone. I am a professonal and it is pretty clear my opinion isn't wanted here. Have a good day!
Thanks for the great advice! Some of these posters are just not.............(fill in the blank).

That's great! Just wanted to make others aware that there are many fakes out there.
