Philosophy from QVC vs from Philosophy site

I know that the scents lasting value changed when they were bought out by Coty.  I have heard some say that buying straight from Philosphy the staying power is better~ I really would like to get today TTV~ the 4oz alone is $79 on the Philosphy site but if its a different formulation on QVC and wont last well may not be sucha great deal

Below I copied ingredients form each site  for AG

Any insite would be greatly appeciated !

Re: Philosophy from QVC vs from Philosophy site

Ok - I have written about this before, quite a while ago. The ingredient list from QVC is longer, because I believe they have to list everything for them to be govt. compliant and because you are buying a product without trying it on, like in a store. I do not know how much the Coty thing has to do with it

I worked for a renowned fragrance supplier for 5 years, one of the many companies that supply fragrance to companies like Lauder, Avon, and many others. Some fragrances are naturally stronger than others.

If you really want to try the Phlosophy TSV, get it and then layer the products on - body shower/bath, then the cream and finally your Spritz fragrance. Many people prefer the lighter P. fragrances - years ago, I wore much heavier fragrances sometimes and lighter ones at other times - even Coty, Muguet des Bois(lily of the valley) for example - I do not think most fragrances last all day, unless they end up on your clothes - that is another idea - do not just put the cologne spray on pulse points - try on your washable cami's and other lingerie.

If you have never tried fragrances from Philosophy - start with AG if you do like lighter fragrances - read the descriptions online too.

Good luck!

I buy all my Phil direct from their site, when the have deals like 40% off or outlet items, you cant beat the prices, and free shipping over $50 and always money back from the rebate sites.

It also depends on which fragrance you want, and in what configuration.  Some of these are only available on QVC, not on the philosophy site.  Baby grace, for instance, is only available at QVC.  I like the pure grace EDP.  It is only available here, and normally only in a kit.

@CoastalGal- I just purchased the TTV in Amazing Grace.  It's such a great deal and I even did the auto-delivery.  I just started a thread on how I've received 2 complients while out in public this week on how great I smelled.  I buy all my AG from QVC.

You can always return if you're disappointed @CoastalGal.  Ebates is showing 8% for me today.

Re: Philosophy from QVC vs from Philosophy site

I have a stupid question: if a company changes the formulas in their products are they required to advertise that? Say they choose to substitute cheaper and less effective ingredients do they have to show that? If not can a litigous person sue them?

PS-many here have claimed that Philosophy has changed and dumbed down their products when they sold the company have any of you actually noticed this or looked and compared the old ingredients list?

I buy Philosophy products wherever they’re cheapest and find no differences. Scents last all day no matter the retailer.
