Philosophy Shower Gel -Read Caution on Instructions

[ Edited ]

Re: Philosophy Shower Gel Read Direction "CAUTION"

I have been using Philosophy shower gel for the past 3 years. Mainly because of of the host presentation on how safe and pure the product is.

I didn't bother to read the directions. Everything I needed to know was explained by the hosts. Safe and pure.

So you could imagine my shock the other day when I dropped the bottle and when picking it up, the word CAUTION caught my eye. "Prolonged Exposure may cause irritation to the Skin and Urinary Track. keep out of the reach of Children". Why is this product presented to us as safe and pure???

Re: Philosophy Shoer Gel -Read Caution on Instructions

The other night I heard Shawn say that she and Joe will not let anything else touch their bodies. I wonder if she has read the caution noted on the bottle.

@Queens  I’ve been posting here many times that the Philosophy Shampoo & Shower Gel is irritating, drying to skin and has sulfates so although it’s stated as a shampoo, CS advises not to use on color treated hair....As far as UTIs, frequent baths w/ any bubble bath & similar products can cause irritation to those delicate areas & UTIs...especially in children.

@RetRN  I take what hosts say with a grain of salt. They only want to sell products. If you listen to them, they use and own everything sold on QVC.

Philosophy products have not been the same since the company was sold, cheaper ingredients seem to have usurped the original integrity of their products. I gave them up years ago.

Korres also contains sulfates, which surprises me, they are supposed to be more natural. Most brands of bubble baths warn consumers not to over indulge, too much can get  inside the body and could lead to an infection of some kind.

Since when have they been touted as "safe and pure"?

Even if they've changed, anything with fragrance can be irritating.  This is nothing new, no matter how the formula has changed.

This is old news that we all should have known decades ago about any bath product.

That warning appears on most bathroom soap and is a well known issue with soap, especially scented soaps.

I've been using Philosophy body washes for 20 years and the last time I had a UTI was when I was maybe 7. The pediatrician gave my mom a list of common causes of UTIs in children and scented soap and bubble bath were on the list.

I've been using philosophy since around 2000 and haven't had any ill effects.

That warning is on every bottle of shower gel/bath product I own:

Philosophy

Perlier

Lancome

Molten Brown

Donna Karan

as well as those from the UK

I take soaking (bubble baths) on occasion. These products aren't going to hurt me. It's those who due it daily for an hour plus that they are warning. It MAY happen, it MAY NOT.

Children are not supposed to soak in bubble baths for a long time and are supposed to use soap; many parents use the bubble aspect to get them INTO the bath, lol, but you do have to be careful for the same reasons.

I only use pure soap on the lady bits. Unscented, no moisturizing anything, just pure soap. This means I have 2 soaps in my shower. Works for me.
