Re: Philosophy Purity and parabens

Laura Geller would sell with enthusiasm a product with parabens and then present the next product and go on about how that product was paraben free like that was so great.  It did not bother her the prior product had parabens.  It used to really annoy me and keep me from buying her products.

Parabens are preservatives.  Your products have to have some sort of preservative, so if not parabens then look at what they are using.  I have no concerns about parabens.  There is no proof that it causes cancer. Much of the research is from force-feeding rats which isn't what we are doing with our skin and hair care products.  Other research is based on much higher levels than the 1% used in our cosmetic products

You fear Parabens, but I bet you still use products with PEG's.  FYI so you know why they are in your products, PEG's are added to silicones to make them water soluble.

I have no fear of parabens either @Icegoddess .

I know skin care experts like Manuela and Linda Marshall, have no fear of parabens, but if they remove them it is only due to customer request.

@Shelbelle I think that's the reason most companies have removed them.  They know it sells product.  Hashtag Bandwagon.

Re: Philosophy Purity and parabens

Parabens still don't seem to be a concern according to the American Cancer Society.

"Most people are exposed to parabens. In fact, studies have found some form of parabens in the urine in up to 99% of people in the US. But so far, studies have not shown any direct link between parabens and any health problems, including breast cancer. There are also many other compounds in the environment that mimic naturally produced estrogen."
