Petroleum jelly for lips?

I've googled this but am not finding what I need.

Does anyone know if using pj on your lips is harmful?

It feels so good when I put it on, but I don't want this to become addictive.

I've exfoliated my lips occasionally over the last 2-3 weeks but they continue to get flaky - ugh!

If your face brightens when you meet a friend, you have struck gold. - unknown
