@1Professor Interesting that you are now using Tatcha. Don't know if you remember a couple of years ago when we had a great Perricone forum going (which was dropped for some reason when they changed the board), I mentioned that I tried a Tatcha set (around $55) that gave you the four basic products. This was long before they expanded to a lot more options now. I really liked it and said: "If I ever find that I can't afford Perricone, I would change to Tatcha in a heartbeat!" ha!
I think the fact that we don't have a Perricone forum anymore (which I asked that they bring back and a QVC moderator said she would look into it.......that was last year) and the fact that Dana's health probably affects the number of times (less) that Perricone is on, we have lost our "community" of knowledgeable Perricone users who frequently exchanged information about this line of products, how to use, and what to expect. That's too bad.
I must say that it has now been a little over four years since I started using Perricone from QVC, and what I notice is not only the improvement in my skin, but BECAUSE of that improvement, I don't use as much Perricone as I once did. I had so many areas to target back then, but have slowly over time seen enough improvement that I don't need the targeted products from this line as I once did. Hooray!
So basically I am using the cold plasma, conformer, and the day/night cream.
I occasionally watch when Tatcha is on and they have lovely presentations and the jars are beautiful. Makes you want to purchase them! LOL! I particularly like to watch when they present the stuff that is a deep blue. Don't remember the specific Tatcha product that is, but it is interesting.
I agree with you that skin may occasionally need a change of products and I think you have hooked onto one that I believe is a good company. I will say, however, that when I was in Japan last year, I did not see a single jar of Tatcha anywhere. ha! I went into various places that specialized in skin care, looking for it, asking for it, and they hadn't heard of it.
I even had a chance to spend about two hours with a Geisha, who runs her own place. She showed me around her "house" and I asked about Tatcha. She had not heard of it. I wonder if Tatcha is called something else in Japan. Her skin was flawless. She did not have the white makeup on her. I asked how she took care of it and she said that she just uses water and moisturizer. I said: "How you kidding?" She said: "No. That's all I do." Makes you wonder if all the money we spend on our face is really necessary, doesn't it?
She was very interesting. Her hair was flawlessly coiffed. She said someone washes and does her hair EVERY morning. Takes one hour. The Geishas have their hair done once a week because they wear wigs a lot, but this is her own hair, not a wig. She charges on average $3,500 for an evening with one of her girls. The evening is 90 minutes, and she said she lets the customer know when his time is up by burning incense that lasts 90 minutes....no clock going "DING!" LOL! When the incense is finished burning, the customer must leave!

I find Perricone and all the Beauty HYPE just that HYPE. Topicals cannot do anything but temporarily moisturize your face. They cannot firm, lift, tighten or decrease or remove wrinkles. Certainly I take care of my skin very well, but high-priced 'miracle 'products? No thanks!

I do believe Retin-A and Vitamin C have been proven to have scientifically proven benefits. Other than that, nothing much has been proven. So I use those and try not to be too tempted other than exfoliation and needing a moisturizer.

@ellaphant For me, Perricone has not been hype. The products have (and still do!) work for me. Since using his products, my skin is firmer and I have less visible wrinkles. Although people tell me my skin looks better now than it did years ago, I don't need them to tell me that; I have photos I took four years ago before I started using Perricone and I can easily see the difference......less visible wrinkles.
A couple of years ago I did my own test of Perricone. I traveled for six weeks in Europe and didn't take any of his products with me. I used a very well good moisturizer from another brand and didn't use anything else. Although that brand kept my skin moisturized and my skin felt really good and hydrated, I noticed at the end of the trip that my skin was not as lifted/tight as it had been with Perricone.
No product is for everyone. Just because it works for me doesn't mean it will for everyone else. ![]()

I enjoyed reading about your geisha visit! I just know my skin would be demanding more than just water and moisturizer! But who doesn't like to simplify things?
She must have a pristine diet and live in a pristine environment and...well, other factors.
As to the short on real information, I agree, but that's with most skincare presentations. Also, I think that there are many ways to achieve realistic results, but alas, if only temporary.

@Harpa I will agree that their diet is very good.
I was invited into the home of this couple, who are in their early 80's. Their skin is so lovely. I asked my standard question: "How do you maintain such beautiful skin?" They too said they just use water and moisturizer. The husband added: "And diet." Yes, yes, therein is the rub! ha! Their eating habits are very good. He said the key was to eat a little of a lot (variety).
This is an example of what is meant by "a little of a lot." Variety is key for them.

I have tried so many different skin care lines over the decades, and find myself repurchasing a product that I like rather than sticking to an entire skin care line.
I started with Perricone many years ago when one of the products in the line was the ONLY thing that healed a facial burn that I got from another skincare line. It was an enzyme product that said to keep on for 1-2 mins. I had it on for about 45 seconds and it left a burn mark. I must have tried 4 or 5 things back then to make things better and Perricone was the only thing that did it. I was sold and used the line for years. Then I drifted into other things but always turning back to Perricone.
Most recently I have been using some SKINN products, I've tried Isomers (which has done little for me), I use the Tacha exfoliating grains and swear by that, etc. For my skin, Perricone gives me the best results. My skin is brighter, firmer and I just look better and more rested. I'm not thrilled with all Perricone products and wait for the TSV since the pricing in most cases is ridiculous. I alternate products. I may use several things in the AM and then other things at night.
I do agree, that the presentations are awful. At least the Isomers presentation gives you some information. The Perricone presentations just use the same flowery words that mean nothing.... Dana is lovely, but using the word "DRAMA" ... tells me nothing.

Thank you soooo much for sharing!!!
Oh! I just have to say one more thing: I am reminded how old Hollywood stars expressly did not use water on their skin!
