I don't get any sense/scent of Tropicana OJ in the Perlier Honey Lemon at all. Just a soft Lemon. No sharpness or edgy citrus that a citrus scent may be characteristic of. Likely the Honey in this combo that softens it, imo. I would've liked it to have a bit more Lemon depth and longevity. But that's just me liking a Lemon fragranced body cream. Korres Citrus, which I purchased when the new Rosemary Flower(luv) scent came out, is a really lovely citrus fragrance. A bit more complex in the notes but still leaning delicate with a presence.
I have to be careful with basil in scents. I've found it to grab with my chemistry and reads very acerbic on my skin, and not in a good way. It's akin to an unpleasant, gaggy guys cheap aftershave. Chaz has a popular Cucumber Basil edp that i thought would be a certain shoo in, but this is where I had the hard awakening with basil. Yet... because of @World Traveler's many positive comments of loving the Korres Basil Lemon...I tried it during a twofer sale. Initially a bit wary, but my goodness, I can successfully wear this!
Many years ago I purchased both a Lemon and Honey lotion made by Bella. Made for pregnancy and new Mom's. Each scent was so clear bright and authentic. Truly amazing. Holy Grail fragrances in a skinny lotion that lingered in just the perfect way. Then of course, no longer available for the longest time. Last I saw only the Lemon on their site. No more of that ethereal Honey, the very best of what I've ever used. I was very sad to see that.
I went back into the Mandorla threads and saw many love the scent and ancillary offerings. Good for everyone who is pleased and happy using the products. And like you, once something gets in my head or nose it's hard to erase and easy to move on.
I like the Perlier Date. The Musk is ok and the Olivarium is a bit too masculine for me in spite of loving many masculine leaning unisex edp's. The beat goes on. Always something around the corner (or in our stash) for all of us to explore and enjoy!
