I doubt it's because they don't care. It's likely they have physical issues and they aren't strong enough to overcome them. Their mental capacity may be impaired. And with a lower income + mental impairment, they could very well think they can't afford the water bill and soap. Let's not forget a diminished sense of smell!

Yes @monicakm I am well aware of elderly, but that goes for men equally as well.
This is not a change in body odor as we age it is they can't wash themselves due to dementia or another incapacitated illness. Urinary incontinence plays part of it. The mind for men and women alike is basically gone and they need medical assistance. Like a nursing home or some sort of at home nursing care a few times a week is given through many insurance companies. This is a sad state of affairs at best what is going on.
This has nothing to do with we stink when we age to make money on tv ads for the younger set with sprays. Crazy!![]()

@jubilant - I find that I still smell just as good wearing perfumes I have worn for the past several years.
I would recommend going to a store that sells perfumes, like Ulta or Sephora or any department store to test out different fragrances and determine which ones work best with your body chemistry.
One thing I like most about Jo Malone fragrances is that they don't have the toxic chemicals in other brands. Less poison is a plus, for sure. There are so many wonderful fragrances from that brand that are either woody, or flowery, or fruity.
I like scents that smell like coffee and vanilla and tonka bean (whatever that is). I like Black Opium by YSL, and Mon Guerlain by Guerlain, and Good Girl by Carolina Herrera, and Wild Rose by Coach. Years prior to that, I wore Light Blue by Dolce and Gabbana.
You really need to try them on with a sample or a spritz of it on your wrist, as they wear down differently. Once, I tried a then new fragrance by Marc Jacobs in a pretty green bottle shaped like a handbag. Worst mistake ever! I wanted to crawl out of my own body to escape that scent, and I could not wait for it to wear off! I think it was called Decadence.

I don't know about/aware of this tv ad. I'm so glad I stopped watching tv years ago (g).
I meant to wear the Clean Reserve "Skin" fragrance today to see how my hair dresser liked it. It lives on my night stand so I grabbed it, spritzed it...it wasn't Skin. It was Kayali's Eden's Apple
Have no idea how that happened.
I've been meaning to reach out to you to let you know I love the Eden's Apple and Vanilla 28 combo
Tell me again how you layer it. Apple first and then Vanilla?

Do you have a fragrance that actually has a coffee aroma? I have smelled perfumes that promise coffee and don't deliver, YSL's Black Opium being one of them. I like and wear the fragrance but coffee is not noticeable. I'd like to find a latte (sweet, milky coffee). I don't want to smell like a pot of brewed coffee.

I don't know about the "over 60" smell part, but, personally, I stay away from anything powdery. I chuckle to myself when I see perfume presentations with "powdery" presented as something positive because, to me, that conjures up "old ladies shopping" lol.

Well here's my 2 cents. I do not believe in an old people smell. My dad lived to be 98 and showered every day. He never had an odor. Neither did my mom. Lord knows I don't, as I shower twice a day - before work and before bed and I wash my hair every other day.
With that said, any human will develop a rank odor if bathing, for whatever reason becomes infrequent. I work in an arena where I visit folks in their homes...sometimes they are young, sometimes older. I always know when it's been a while since they had a date with a washcloth.
Perfumes - I can't find any I like. Today, I got an ad from Sephora in the mail with a booklet of perfume samples. To me, they were so heavy and just too much. Felt an instant headache coming on. I did get a small assortment of Nest fragrances a while back and I liked several, but sadly they didnt last.

I've never been a person who sweats a lot and I get a bath every night of my life so this really has me puzzled. Personally , I'd rather smell good then bad! I think I'll ask my doctor about it next time I see him because from all I've read about it online many people have had this problem and they say it can be do to aging skin and chemical changes in the skin.
Thanks for all the input and suggestions!

Hi, @monicakm ! Yes, I put the apple on first and the vanilla over it. I just got the two 10mL bottles (one of each) I'm set for a bit. Still really in love with Musk 12.
